The Heart Behind A Meal for Jesus
In America, Thanksgiving is a special family meal a time to gather, give thanks to God, and celebrate His goodness.
In Congo, the New Year family meal carries the same deep meaning. It is a moment for families to come together, pray, and place their hope in God for the year ahead. Sadly, many families are so impoverished that they cannot afford this meal.
Since 2016, our church has responded to this need through a program we now call:
A Meal for Jesus
“For I was hungry and you gave Me food…” — Matthew 25:35
When we feed the hungry, we serve Christ Himself.
What We Do & How It Works
A Meal for Jesus is carried out in partnership with local churches in Congo who know their communities and identify families most in need.
Through this program:
-Families are selected based on need
-Food packages are prepared locally
-Each family receives enough food for a complete meal for about 6-8 people
Distribution is done prayerfully, with encouragement and Scripture
This outreach is not only about food it is about dignity, compassion, and the love of Christ in action.
Impact, Cost & How You Can Help
Our vision is to expand this program to reach more families through more churches.
Our goals:
